Board and door order pickers
by HUBTEX
Manufacturers, dealers and processing companies – they all have logistical value chains which involve the order picking of heavy and bulky sheet stock. This is because valuable wood sheets and decors in particular must arrive damage-free at the next production step or end customer. Today, there is a whole range of solutions for this complex process: from manual order picking by employees to fully automated logistics systems. It is therefore particularly important for decision-makers to have an overview of the systems available on the market and to be familiar with the decisive factors when selecting the right solution.
Another variant for applications with a high rate of turnover are the EZK order picking platforms, as they can pick from both sides of a rack aisle.

Frequently asked questions
concerning order picking
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions
What is the right picking solution for my application?
Unfortunately there is no general answer to this question. The demands on the commissioning of panel materials, decors, etc. are high. The materials must be brought from A to B gently, precisely and quickly. Only in this way can boards, decors and other wood materials reach their destination safely and without damage, so that the next process steps can follow seamlessly. Based on an analysis of your requirements on site, we try to give our customers a recommendation for the appropriate solution. Hubtex has a broad portfolio of different solutions for this. On our microsite we explain our approach to selecting the right system and give an overview of the most important order picking systems and their advantages and disadvantages. As a specialist in the handling of long, heavy and bulky goods, we use a checklist to inform users about the criteria they should pay attention to when selecting the right solution. Interested parties can find the microsite on this topic as well as the whitepaper.
When does it make sense to use vacuum cups for picking?
Three aspects play an important role here. Firstly, vacuum cups help to reduce damage to the goods. In addition, the dimensions and weight of wood-based materials are becoming increasingly heavy and it is therefore often no longer possible to pick them by hand. On the other hand, they are the prerequisite for automating picking processes of panel materials?
