Multidirectional forklift for production and shipping logistics at KOCH Türen
Individual items in high quality at reasonable prices: Anyone who wants to cater to the individual wishes of their customers despite series production needs sophisticated production and shipping logistics. Koch Türen GmbH from Steinach am Brenner (Austria) is an example of this. Here, around 100 high-quality interior doors and door frames are produced daily based on orders, with customers being able to choose from countless variants. The family business delivers its products within a radius of 270 kilometers with its own trucks and exchange trailers, usually right to the construction site.
In order to make production as efficient as possible despite the smallest batch sizes, the door manufacturer built a buffer warehouse with 600 pallet spaces distributed over 7 aisles and 13 floors in the summer of 2021. Storage and retrieval is handled by a semi-automatic Hubtex electric multidirectional sideloader type MQ 30, which executes around 100 orders per day. The telescopic tines of the stacker can be extended from 1,000 to 1,300 mm, which corresponds to the two pallet widths used at Koch Türen. "Hubtex was the only manufacturer that could individually implement our high requirements for safety and efficiency for us," reports Production Manager Simon Koch.
